Nicole Mager Appointed Divisional Principal

On behalf of the Senior Leadership Team, we are pleased to announce the appointment of Nicole Mager as Divisional Principal for the 2025–26 school year. Her appointment was confirmed by the Board of Trustees at the Regular Board Meeting on May 20, 2025. 

Nicole earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Manitoba in 2001, followed by a Bachelor of Education in 2003. A dedicated lifelong learner, she completed a Post-Baccalaureate Diploma in Education in 2011 and a Master of Education in 2021. 

Nicole began her teaching career in the 91ºÚÁÏÍø (91ºÚÁÏÍø) in 2003 as a Grade 4 teacher. Between 2003 and 2006, she held various teaching roles in the River East Transcona School Division before returning to 91ºÚÁÏÍø in 2006 to teach a multi-age classroom at Archwood School. In 2007, she transitioned into a Student Services role and later joined Hastings School in 2013 as a Positive Behaviour Support Teacher. 

Her leadership journey began in 2014 as Vice-Principal of Victor Mager School, followed by a Vice-Principal role at Windsor Park Collegiate in 2016. Nicole was appointed Principal of Dr. D.W. Penner School in 2019 and, in 2021, became Principal of Lavallee School. 

Nicole is known for her caring demeanor, empathetic leadership, and unwavering commitment to creating positive, inclusive learning environments where both students and staff feel valued and supported. Her friendly and approachable nature fosters strong relationships and open communication within the school community. As a leader, she is thoughtful, collaborative, and deeply invested in the success of others. 

In her new role as Divisional Principal, Nicole brings a wealth of experience across elementary and high school settings, as well as deep knowledge in student services and inclusive education. Her leadership in multi-age learning and behaviour support, along with her strong connections across the division, will serve her well in supporting school teams and advancing 91ºÚÁÏÍø’s strategic priorities.
