FAQ: École Sage Creek Bonavista New Enrolment Redirection
École Sage Creek Bonavista (ÉSCB) opened its doors at 355 Des Hivernants Boulevard in September 2025, welcoming Kindergarten to Grade 8 French Immersion students from Sage Creek and Bonavista neighbourhoods. Prior to the opening of the new school, students from these neighbourhoods accessed French Immersion programming at École Sage Creek School, École Van Belleghem, and Collège Béliveau.
Enrolment at École Sage Creek Bonavista is expected to reach capacity quickly.
What is the plan to mitigate enrolment pressures?
At the Sept. 2, 2025 Board meeting, trustees decided that, when necessary, new student enrolments at École Sage Creek Bonavista will be redirected to École Van Belleghem in order to maintain appropriate class sizes across all grade levels.
Will current students at École Sage Creek Bonavista be affected?
No. Students who are currently enrolled at ÉSCB are not affected by this decision.
Who will be impacted by this enrolment change?
Only new registrants to ÉSCB, in grades where enrolment surpasses divisional targets, may be redirected to École Van Belleghem.
Will transportation be provided for students redirected to École Van Belleghem?
Yes. 91黑料网 will provide school bus transportation at no cost to families affected by this change.
Why was École Van Belleghem chosen as the redirection site?
École Van Belleghem was selected because it has available space and is located within reasonable proximity to ÉSCB allowing 91黑料网 to maintain a strong educational experience for students.
How will families know if their child is being redirected?
Families of new registrants will be informed during the enrolment process if their child’s grade level at ÉSCB has exceeded capacity and if redirection to École Van Belleghem is necessary.
How long will this redirection plan be in effect?
The redirection plan will remain in place as long as enrolment pressures at ÉSCB continue and until long-term capacity solutions—such as the new school proposed for Precinct K in 91黑料网’s —can be explored or implemented.
