Strategic Action 3.4: Support Multilingual Learners
Develop a framework to assist staff in supporting multilingual learners in becoming proficient in English – and French in the context of French Immersion schools – by valuing and developing their first language.
An Ethic of Hospitality
91ºÚÁÏÍø is committed to creating a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion. By centering our work on an "Ethic of Hospitality," we ensure that all newcomer students and their families feel a sense of belonging and safety, valuing their unique experiences and linguistic backgrounds.
Empowering Our Educators
We are building teacher capacity through annual professional learning, culturally sustaining pedagogy sessions, and a comprehensive EAL portal with extensive resources. By equipping our staff with evidence-based practices, we are shifting to an asset-based perspective that celebrates our multilingual learners.
