Strategic Action 4.6: Employment Equity

Fulfil the aspirations, protocols, and practices of the Employment Equity Policy.

Building an Inclusive Foundation

We've created a new Employment Equity Policy and provided mandatory training for our leadership team on bias in hiring. By standardizing interview questions and refining job posting language, we are embedding diversity, equity, and inclusion into our employment practices.

Collaborating for Change

We are actively partnering with organizations like the Canadian Centre for Diversity and Inclusion (CCDI) and the Centre for Aboriginal Human Resource Development (CAHRD) while advocating at the provincial level to remove barriers for internationally educated teachers.

  • Include self-declaration as part of recruitment process
  • Launch public Staff Diversity Dashboard that emulates Student Diversity Dashboard
  • Gather data re: school based PD related to anti-racism, equity, decolonization, inclusion
