Strategic Action 3.3: Information Literacy
Create an Information Literacy continuum.
Defining Information Literacy
A cohort of 12 teacher-librarians is defining essential K–12 information literacy competencies by analyzing current research and aligning insights with provincial curricula. This foundational work will ensure students develop the critical skills needed to navigate today’s complex information landscape safely and effectively.
Fostering Collaboration
We are positioning teacher-librarians as key instructional partners who will embed information literacy skills into classroom teaching. By advocating for these essential skills and addressing the challenges of misinformation, our teacher-librarians will empower both students and staff across the division.
